Once again, I really love this series. So many subplots and background stories come out in this novel. We see so much more of Eric and Quinn, and we start to see how all of this is effecting Sookie. We also learn more about vampire politics and just how much danger Sookie is in at any given time. Bill appears in this one, but he only appears as “he who should not be named,” which I found really funny. You can feel the tension building through this novel, and although you know it’s not all going to reach completion in this book, you know that it will be fulfilled before the series is through.
It’s a wonderful read, and one I can easily finish in one afternoon. Charlaine Harris is an excellent novelist, and I will definitely be reading the rest of her novels, even the ones that aren’t part of the Sookie Stackhouse collection.
