A Week In Review: April 22

Wow, it has been a crazy productive week here.  I almost doubled the amount of work that I did the prior week, and I managed to complete one of my large projects.  So, it was a great week for me.

Writing

A lot of writing happened this week.

Since my last update on Sunday, I finished formatting and laying out Stranger Things 2018: Science Fiction and Fantasy Writing Prompts, and I published it on Tuesday on Amazon.  I also wrote up a character story for Dasgil, my main character from The Jewel of the Mountain, and I write the first two scenes of that story.  I also finished writing up three different types of prompts for Outlaws & Gunslingers 2018: Western Writing Prompts, which is scheduled to come out in June.

I was planning to do a quick edit of The Siren’s Song, but that story is a mess.  The draft is so bad that it would actually be easier to rewrite, using what I have as a guide, than it would be to try to get all the edits and corrections that I need to make in the allotted white space that is left on the printout.

(Yes, I still edit with a pen.  Just like I still write on pen and paper.  Even my blog posts are written in longhand.)

But, I have allotted an entire day next week to rewriting The Siren’s Song, so hopefully, I will get it done.

Graphic Design

I didn’t do as much photo editing and graphic design as I wanted to do this week.  I created the cover of Stranger Things 2018: Science Fiction and Fantasy Writing Prompts, but that is as far as I got.  I wanted to play around with some ideas for the covers for The Siren’s Song and The Jewel of the Mountain, but I never got around to it.

I don’t have any graphic or photo editing on my schedule for this week either, so I will probably return to it the following week.

Reading

Well, I finally finished reading The Hobbit.  I will get a book review written up for it this week so I can add it to my blog book review list.

I have already started The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey.  I’m loving it so far, and I don’t think it is going to take me long to finish it.

I may also try to read The Fellowship of the Ring as the same time.  B. C.  (Before Children), I was able to read up to five books simultaneously, so maybe I can do two.

We’ll see.

Conclusion

So, that has been my very productive week this week.  I feel quite accomplished, if I do say so myself.

I have schedule a couple more things to do this coming week than I did last week.  I will keep doing that until I find my maximum production level.  If I can find that and maintain it, I can see myself finally finishing up some of these projects that I have been sitting on for years.

I hope you all have a great week!
